Social Heroes, Issue #alpha

Social Heroes is a game about tagging your friends. The goal is to convince people to give you points in order to earn achievements, which are made up of points in different categories. And once you have earned enough achievements, you'll become a social super hero, able to give people loads of points in your category and take points away from the people who just aren't cutting it.

How to Play

To begin playing, follow socialheroes on Twitter. You can do that from the website, or by texting "follow socialheroes" to 40404 from your phone (this will work whether or not you have a Twitter account). The SH system will communicate to you using Twitter direct messages, and you can manage how those get to you on the Twitter site. (For gaming purposes, I highly reccommend setting up your phone to receive them as text messages.) You can control how often you receive messages from the game by sending commands via Twitter.

To give someone points, send a reply message to socialheroes, copy your friend, and add some points:

@socialheroes @TheirName +tag
for example: @socialheroes @rebelprince +geek

You can use any supported Twitter method to give someone points, including text message (to 40404), IM, Twitterific, Facebook, or the website.
You start out with 12 points to spend, and you'll receive more whenever you earn an achievement. After those are gone, you can only spend points from the tags which have them. For example, you can only give geek points if you've got some which someone else gave to you.

There are levels! You level up after 3,5,7, and 10 achievements have been earned. (and yes, you start at level 0. loser.)
level 1 (2 achievements) - you can buy new tags!
level one has been eliminated. go straight to level 2. level 2 (4 achievements) - you can make new achievements! (but you can't earn your own!)
level 2 (2 achievements) - you can buy new tags! you can make new achievements! (but you can't earn your own!)
level 3 (6 achievements) - you can take away points from other players! (gasp! evildoer!)
level 4 (8 achievements) - something magical happens!

There are three levels of direct messaging:

• off, in which the game never sends you a DM unless you send a request for help, tags, etc.
• low, in which you only receive DMs when you earn an achievement
• high, in which you receive a DM anytime someone gives you points
